The Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe

Fruita, Colorado

Is a place of pilgrimage for the entire Diocese of Pueblo and, hopefully, far beyond that. Inspired by our diocese’s patron saint Therese of the Child Jesus philosophy of The Little Way, the intention of this project is for small acts of love and generosity of heart to reap enormous fruits. We call upon Our Lady to strengthen our faith, and to show us a way to her Son through worship, prayer, and education.

Mary is not only the bridge joining us to God; she is more. She is the road that God travelled to reach us, and the road that we must travel to reach Him.”

-Pope Francis

Bishop Berg (Diocese of Pueblo, CO) dedicated The Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe on December 9th 2023, the feast day of St. Juan Diego.

Our artist (Margaret) was hard at work making this Shrine come to life with the statues of Our Lady of Guadalupe and St. Juan Diego!

In the late spring of March 28th 2022 over 100 people joined in the construction celebration and shared a delicious meal together, thanks to the generosity of El Tapatio!

Let not your heart be disturbed.

Do not fear sickness, nor any other anguish.

Am I not here, who am your Mother?

Are you not under my protection?

Am I not your health?

Are you not happily within my fold?

What else do you wish?

Do not grieve nor be disturbed by anything.
