  • Where is the shrine located?

    • The shrine and prayer garden will be located in Fruita, Colorado, at Sacred Heart Church: 1210 17 1/2 Rd, Fruita, CO 81521. It will be a place of pilgrimage for the entire Diocese of Pueblo and, hopefully, far beyond. Inspired by our diocese’s patron saint Therese of the Child Jesus’s philosophy, the purpose of the project is to be that small act that reaps enormous fruits. We call upon Our Lady to strengthen our faith, and to show us a way to her Son through worship, prayer, and education.

  • When will the shrine be complete?

    • The initial phase of the shrine was completed on 12/09/23, the feast of St Juan Diego. In the spring of 2024 we will be adding more colorful plants, many more roses, a welcoming trellis gate and many other features. As Our Blessed Mother guides, this shrine will continue to evolve - to grow and to bloom so that great fruits may come for those who visit.

  • How much money do we need to raise?

    • We have been very blessed by the support of the Diocese of Pueblo, the Knights of Columbus, Catholic Extension and so many other generous benefactors and donors to make this shrine come to life and we are so very grateful. There will be an ongoing need for continued maintenance and management of the shrine so will continue to raise funds to establish an endowment to ensure the perpetuity of shrine operations.

  • When can people come to visit the shrine?

    • While the official dedication and unveiling of our statues (of Our Lady of Guadalupe and St Juan Diego) will be on December 9, 2023, all are welcome to come and visit at any time.
